In November 2006, a loan Agreement was signed between the Port Authority of Ploče and the World Bank, as well as a guarantee Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the World Bank. This initiated the Transport and Trade Integration (TTI) venture with emphasis on the following development projects in the Port of Ploče:
With the new equipment being set into function, the terminal will have an annual transfer capacity of 4.6 million tons in the first phase, with a maximum capacity of 6 million tons per year.
The port of Ploče obtained the required quantities of “RT5 Superskin” from Reynolds Soil Technology solutions in Australia, as well as specialized fire-fighting tanks with unique technical characteristics (a built-in mixer for this type of liquid) which will perform the job of dispersing and suppressing the coal piles.
Luka Ploče d.d. expressed an interest in the purchase of a business stake owned by the Croatian company Luka Vukovar d.o.o.
There was an official opening of the construction of the first stage of the bulk cargo terminal.
Construction of the Terminal for bulk cargo worth 62 million euros, began. The construction site was visited by the Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, Siniša Hajdaš Dončić.
The share capital is increased by HKN 89,045,600, added to the amount of HKN 80,141,200 equalizing to the amount of HKN 169,186,800, cash payments, issuing 200,353 new shares with a nominal value of HKN 400.
As part of the expansion and modernization of the Port of Ploče, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor opened the new container terminal worth EUR 34 million (first phase). Its capacity is, in the first phase,60,000 container units and extends to nearly four hectares.
Trade union representatives signed collective agreements with three daughter companies: Luka Ploče gradnjom (construction), Luka Ploče održavanjem (maintenance) i Pomorskim servisom (ship/boat maintenance).
